Robotarium SP
Set of autonomous robots, each of them having its own characteristics and reacting differently to the surrounding environment by displaying changes in motion and sound emission. Each robot contains a set of photovoltaic panels aiming to charge its internal battery system, while the robot is in sleep mode. Project in partnership with the artist Leonel Moura.
Location and date: São Paulo, Brazil. 2010

Robotarium X - Art & Science Project
The Robotarium is a art and science project of the plastic artist Leonel Moura, with the robotic implementation of IdMind and the support from the Câmara Municipal de Vila Franca de Xira. It is installed in Jardim Central do Bom Sucesso (central garden), in Alverca (Portugal). It is a public art project, where creativity meets innovation.
The Robotarium is a structure of metal and glass, in which a set of totally autonomous robots " live", divided in different species and with different characteristics and capabilities.
Most robots are fed by solar panels, moving during the day and resting at night. They are conceived to endure and to resist to collisions and dirt, in the expectation of a long life. In their activity they will react with the environment, with a simple type of interaction, like obstacle avoidance, or, for instance, moving towards zone with higher light intensity.
Some "species" of larger dimensions were also introduced, and fed by mains power. These robots react to the visitors through sensors that detect their presence near the Robotarium structure.
