ARCO debuts at Robbialac

ARCO, the Autonomous Robot CO-Worker, born from the joint work of IDMind and the University of Pablo de Olavide, has just performed its validation experiments in an industrial environment. Robbialac, the end-user partner in ARCO, has hosted these experiments which aim to demonstrate the usefulness of using a robot in collaboration with a human operator in the execution of their daily tasks.

ARCO has been funded through the HORSE H2020 project.

IDMind’s robot in FChampalimaud

A service robot developed by IDMind is one of the most recent co-workers of the Champalimaud Clinical Centre. This autonomous robot is helping healthcare professionals in the execution of their daily tasks by performing a repetitive task of transporting medications. Recently, the cable channel TVI24 went to the Champalimaud Foundation and made a video report (in portuguese) about this robot which can be found in this link.

IDMind joined the European Robotics Week (ERW) 2017 initiative. Following an invitation from the Lisbon City Hall, IDMind brought a MBot to surprise and interact with the users in the reception atrium of the City Hall (Campo Grande building).

IDMind participated as an exhibitor in the International Conference on Robot Ethics and Safety Standards (ICRESS) 2017 held in Lisbon, Portugal, on the 20-21 October, 2017. The SQUIRREL robot (in the picture) was used to exemplify some of the challenges faced by autonomous robots in public spaces.

Monarch Robot at MWC 2016

Our Mbot has attended to MWC2016 in the European Commission booth so as to spread the word about Monarch Project and their importance among young population who unfortunately has the necessity to stay on hospitals for long time due to special treatments. Even though this cute Robot has been designed for children interaction, it has attracted the attention of many visitors and reporters that walked by the Congress.

Mbot was especially programmed for this event in order to be able to search for visitors, provide them with brief information on the EC mission (through synthesized voice) and invite them to go inside the booth to find out more on EC-funded projects.

FROG at ICT 2015

FROG has been invited to the off-site exhibition of ICT 2015. This is a small part of the ICT exhibition, installed in Praça do Comércio, open to the wider public to show ‘What European ICT is doing for you?’ and giving a snapshot of the contents of the main CCL exhibition.

FROG has been leading the guests in the guided tour and interacting with passers outside the pavilion. Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger was received by FROG on his visit to the ICT off-site exhibition.

Presentation of robot VIVA

A robot built by IDMind and nicknamed VIVA has been presented during the 16th Anniversary of Pavilhão do Conhecimento Ciência Viva (Pavilion of Knowledge Ciência Viva, Lisbon, Portugal). During the following months, this robot will be programmed and adapted to the environment of the Pavilion of Knowledge to welcome the visitors.

1st ARGOS Challenge Competition

The first competition of the ARGOS Challenge was held from June 22nd to the 26th in Lacq (South West France). IDMind and its teammates from GMV and UPM-CAR, have been present to demonstrate the capabilities of the FoxIris robot through a series of inspection missions, risk management and endurance tasks.

Argos Challenge Training Week

During this last week, IDMind and its teammates from GMV and UPM-CAR have been testing the FoxIris robot on the UMAD competition site (the unit provided for the event and managed by Sobegi) at Lacq, France. This has been a great opportunity to evaluate the performance of FoxIris in the Argos competition site and collect important information to fine tune the robot for the 1st edition of the challenge that will happen this June 22-26.
